ProgressU is a one-person tutoring business serving 3rd to 8th-grade students founded by Deanna, an experienced educator and lifelong learner. The vision for this website was to establish ProgressU as a professional but personal brand that parents can trust with their child’s growth.
The goal was to create a central online hub where parents could register their children, stay updated on progress, and access important records, all while capturing the heart of ProgressU: confidence-building, joyful learning, and individualized student growth.
I also wanted to create a sense of trust from prospective parents for ProgressU, so to accomplish that, I scanned and digitized all thank you cards from Deanna's past students and embedded that on the finished website.

The visual language had to balance professionalism with warmth, which means not overly childish, but also not sterile. I used soft, approachable colors, rounded typography, and spacious layouts to reflect trust, care, and clarity.
The copy was written in Deanna’s voice: clear, nurturing, and encouraging to make parents feel like they were speaking with someone who genuinely cares about their child’s potential.

This project was a deep dive into building emotional trust through design. I learned how to translate the heart of a one-person business into digital form without losing its personality.
It also pushed me to balance user-centered structure (for parents) with visual creativity that still felt light, playful, and inviting.
